Utilivate is pleased to announce an opportunity for an Energy Engineer for several of our Midwest-based projects. We're looking for talented people who share our passion for putting clients first. Assignments would include serving as the client's trusted energy expert on behalf of Utilivate Technologies. The position also calls for someone with a strong background in energy management and who has the interest and ability to successfully complete the CEM (Certified Energy Manager) and BPI Building Analyst and Building Envelop Professional exams.

This position is responsible for establishing an ongoing relationship with clients, providing technical consultation on current mechanical, electrical, lighting, and other systems, and identifying opportunities for energy efficiencies. The Energy Engineer must also have the ability to foster relationships at all levels of the client organization and to operate independently, or as a member of a project team. This position is key to reaching our aggressive growth goals for 2011.

Utilivate needs a multi-talented individual who has a proven background in providing high levels of customer satisfaction as an Energy Engineer.

Education and Work Experience:

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering with strong energy auditing and energy management experience. Advanced degrees a plus.
• Proven experience in performing energy assessments and energy management services for commercial, institutional, and industrial companies.
• Currently hold a Certified Energy Manager certification or have the interest and ability to complete the CEM certification process within three (3) months of hiring.
• Experience in using building energy modeling/simulation software.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications Include:

• Assist in developing energy management strategies, analyzing energy use data, and writing audit reports. Assist in analyzing utility interval data to establish baseline energy consumption and demand response capacity.
• Perform site surveys, client interviews, facility/plant walk-through, and detailed energy assessments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Have a strong background in analyzing mechanical, electrical, lighting, refrigeration, and other energy systems.
• Currently hold a Certified Energy Manager certification or have the interest and ability to complete the CEM certification process within 6 months of hiring.
• Assist in developing engineering/energy documents, management proposals, cost proposals, and project presentations.
• Proficient in using building energy modeling/simulation software.

• Ability to skillfully execute above job responsibilities.
• Must be well organized, meticulous and able to prioritize tasks.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all staff levels within an organization.
• Proven leadership qualities with excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of Utilivate and client team members.
• Expert level skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficient in using Internet technologies, email programs, and conducting effective web searches.
• Thrive in a challenging and independent work environment. Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the courage to take calculated risks.
• Cultivating customer relationships and identifying new opportunities within customer accounts. Develop, recommend, and execute retention strategies to maintain current client base, grow future client base, and lead future project teams.
• Hands-on, able to work with clients and handle projects from A to Z. Flexible working hours, and strong, flexible team player. Able to translate quantitative information into actionable business data and recommendations.
• Self-starter must be able to work independently and manage day-to-day project activities to achieve major milestones. Solid analytical skills and keen attention to detail. Proactive and results driven. Services must be available during normal business hours.
• Should have own personal computer, cell phone (available for business communications), and home office.
• Ability to identify, analyze, quantify, document, and report energy savings and environmental impact for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial clients.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident status required.
