Looking for a professional Energy Engineering position, but with a part-time schedule? Utilivate Technologies is an emerging-growth company, based in downtown Chicago, which is experiencing strong growth in its target arena of Change Management, Business Transformation, and Energy Management and Training. Utilivate is pleased to announce an opportunity for a part-time Energy Engineering Associate for several of our Chicago based projects. We’re looking for talented people who share our passion for putting clients first. The Energy Engineering Associate is expected to serve as the technical resource to Utilivate and the client and is responsible for identifying and understanding the energy related issues of the client. This position is also responsible for establishing an ongoing relationship with clients, providing technical consultation on current systems and future energy efficiencies. The Energy Engineering Associate also has the ability to foster relationships at all levels of the client organization, and to operate independently or as a member of a team. This position is key to us reaching our aggressive growth goals for 2005. We are seeking candidates who share our professional development model: Provide exceptional service and retain our current customer base, identify and grow new customers, and provide leadership and mentoring to an expanding Utilivate staff.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience in commercial and industrial energy engineering, utility cost analysis, facilities management, life cycle cost analysis, project development and conservation program implementation,

  • Strong project management, estimating, and documenting skills,

  • BS in Chemical, Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred. Advanced degree a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) or CEM certification a plus.


  • Identify and developing energy conservation measures,


  • Determining energy baselines, developing measurement and verification methodologies,


  • Calculating operating and ancillary savings,


  • Analyzing and quantifying energy consumption and savings


  • Cultivating customer relationships and identifying new opportunities within customer accounts


  • Serve as the technical expert.


  • Proven leadership qualities with excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of Utilivate and client team members.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


  • Proficient in using Internet technologies, email programs, and conducting effective web searches.


  • Thrive in a challenging and independent work environment. Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the courage to take calculated risks.


  • Develop, recommend, and lead retention strategies to maintain current client base, grow future client base, and lead future project teams.


  • Hands-on Energy Engineering Associate able to work with clients and handle projects from A to Z. Flexible working hours, and strong, flexible team player. Able to translate quantitative information into actionable business data and recommendations.


  • Self-starter must be able to work independently and manage day-to-day project activities as well as keeping an eye for major milestones. Solid analytical skills and keen attention to detail. Proactive and results driven. Services must be available during normal business hours.


  • Should have own personal computer, cell phone (available for business communications), and home office.
